  • What ages are your programs for?
    We have programs for ages 5-7, ages 8-13, and ages 13+.
  • Do you have a referral program?
    Yes, we have a referral program. If you refer another student, you will get 5% off of your next registration! Keep in mind, your referral must note your full name in their registration form, and you must provide us their registration number for the discount to be valid!
  • Do you have any programs for adults?
    Yes, our 13+ programs are suitable for adults with or without any robotics experience!
  • Do kids need to have previous experience?

    No previous experience is required, just a desire to learn and an interest in robotics or coding!
    Our instructors will teach your child how to use any programs or materials safely, and show them anything else they may need or want to know.

  • How do I know which program is right for my child?

    Each curriculum is specially created for each age group’s capacity, all you have to do is ask you’re your child which program sounds most exciting to them! If you require any assistance in choosing a program, or your child needs extra accommodations, simply email us at info@iriscanada.com. This is a great way for you and your child to get some guidance, and make sure you have all the information you need before committing to a program or camp.

  • How many kids are in a classroom?

    Our online and in person classrooms are made of 1 instructor with a maximum of 5 students. Camps and PA Days are 1 instructor to a maximum of 8 students.

  • Do you have discounts?

    Yes! Please refer to our Terms & Conditions to see which discounts you qualify for. Also, make sure to keep up to date on our Social Media accounts to be in the know of current promotions happening.
    NOTE: You can only use one discount code per purchase. Also, discount codes must be used at the time of purchase and cannot be applied retroactively.

  • Do you have any subsidies or payment plans?

    We currently have a discount for low-income families. If you need help with the registration fee, please email info@iriscanada.com and you will be provided with resources! Currently, only our Annual Membership involves a payment plan. Please visit the webpage to learn more!

  • Do I have to register in advance for any program?

    Yes! We recommend registering as early as possible as space is limited.

  • What is your approach towards teaching?

    Our approach is to encourage creativity and empower kids with their own ideas for projects. At IRIS Canada, we hold 4 core values close to our hearts and implement them every day into all of our lessons and activities. We believe these characteristics are invaluable and equip our future engineers with everything they need in order to change the world for the better using Technology. Our 4 core values are:

    1. Technological Acumen – We develop their technical skills in areas such as robotics, coding, video game and CAD designing as well as electronics
    2. Enterprising spirit – We teach them entrepreneurial skills in areas such as business development, ecommerce, marketing, finance and creative designing
    3. Emotional Intelligence – We help them grow their soft skills in areas such as leadership, communication, public speaking and teamwork
    4. Responsible Behavior – We show them how to be socially and environmentally responsible and contribute to sustainable development.

  • Do you participate in outside competitions?

    Yes! IRIS’ very own robotics teams have participated in multiple robotics competitions since 2014. The opportunity to meet and work with students who have a love for robotics and common goal to make the world a better place is amazing! Refer to our Robotics Team Page for more information!

  • What is your refund/cancellation policy?

    Please refer to our Terms & Conditions webpage.

  • What do I do if my child can’t make a class?

    If your child cannot make a class, please send out an email to us ASAP, we prefer 24-hour notice. Introductory workshops can be rescheduled only once. For regular programs, only 2 make-up classes will be provided. Our Annual Memberships include 10 make-up classes.

  • What do students receive after finishing their courses?

    Students receive a certificate, can request a recommendation letter for various institutions, and a chance to enrollment in our CO-OP program. After finishing our program, the suitable student can start teaching at our center as an assistant instructor.

  • Do I have to stay with my child during their virtual program?

    We recommend parents or guardians to be nearby or in the vicinity of their child during their virtual class. The age group of 5-7 will most likely need a parent or guardian nearby to help them; this is especially important for their first virtual classes. This is ultimately up to your own discretion.

  • Can I enroll in an Online course if I live outside of Canada?

    Yes! In fact, we encourage our classrooms to be as globally diverse as possible. All classes will be held in the EST time zone (Toronto, Canada), and all children must be proficient in the English language.

  • Do you have any COOP Programs for high-school students?

    Yes! We are affiliated with various TDSB school COOP Programs! We also accept placements from any school district in the GTA, so if you’re looking for a placement, do not hesitate to reach out!
