Course Overview:
This course will instruct students on how to make their own 2D action platformer game using GameMaker. This will be similar to Mario and other popular titles. The final project for this course will feature menu selection, multiple levels, fully animated characters, several game mechanics and other features. Students can continue to develop this game outside of the course with all of the techniques they’ve learned. A windows laptop or PC is required to participate.
Video games are enjoyed by all sorts of individuals and exist in many different varieties. Different types of games are designed for many audiences and exist on many platforms such as mobile, consoles, and PCs. This course is aimed at developing an action-platforming game that will be played on PC that will use simple core mechanics to create an enjoyable experience. Throughout the course, students will be working on their game and slowly adding more and more refinement to the project. Starting with the basics, and moving towards more advanced steps to make the game more fun and professional over time.

Age Group: 8 Years to 12 Years
This is an ongoing 8 weeks program where kids will attend a 1.5-hour class every week at one of our locations. Depending on the learning pace of the child the course might need to be extended for satisfactory learning.
